Ball Transfer Units are made up of housing, rolling elements (small steel balls & big steel balls / plastic balls), seal that means consisting of a large solid high grade steel ball running on a number of smaller support balls housed in a cup.
Ball transfer units have some different types that Cup Rollers, Heavy Load Rollers, Pot Rollers, Spring Loaded Rollers and Special Pot Rollers.
All carbon steel ball transfers are prelubricated and sealed, thus not requiring further maintenance. Most units have a drain hole in the bottom of the unit to expel dirt and moisture.
In certain extreme applications, units may be maintained with a cleaner or lubricating fluid applied to the main ball at regular intervals.
